Hermit Island
-In 2007, two of my best friends and I had the time of our lives camping on Hermit Island. This was my first experience with Hermit Island, and surely won't be the last. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by natural beauty, this is the place for you.

-My husband found this site. I have been checking it out and I think there are some great pictures on here. I have been camping at Hermit Island every year for 30 years. I started camping there at the tender age of 2. It is my favorite place in the whole world.

Oceanfront Camping at it's Best!!!
Hermit Island is a beautiful campground in Maine, right outside of Bath. Caters only to tenters, providing them with many activities to keep them occupied. Some of these include swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking. There are seven white sand beaches on the island including one that you have to hike to reach. For fishing and boating, the island rents out boats at their private marina which you can take out and fish for bass or cod. Finally, the island has many hiking trails including one that goes right alongside the ocean. A camp store provides groceries, fresh seafood, and firewood while the gift shop sell many postcards and t-shirts. The Kelp Shed is the main service center for the island. Here you can check-in to the island, checkout the activities list, grab a bite at the snack bar, or play in the game room. The restrooms are located throughout the island and each site has a fire pit, parking space, and picnic table. Overall, Hermit Island is any camper’s paradise.
